Our double-deck circular cross-belt project in Yiwu, Zhejiang, uses building height to provide sorting capacity within a constrained floor area. Two levels require the parcel flow, structural loads and maintenance access to be planned together.
A double-deck layout can increase the number of available destinations compared with a single level on the same footprint. The actual gain depends on the site geometry, feeding points, collection method and whether the two levels operate independently or share downstream handling.
During engineering, we review clear height, structural capacity, installation routes and alignment between levels. Feeding, identification, carrier tracking and discharge logic must remain coordinated across the complete system.
Prefabricated modules, digital layout planning and on-site measurement can reduce installation conflicts. Commissioning still needs parcel trials, controls tests and operator training under the site’s actual workflow.
The suitable configuration and achievable throughput vary by project. We confirm these figures from parcel samples, peak-hour demand, route count and the building plan rather than applying one generic performance claim.
